From May 30 to June 1, 2025, in the coastal city of Vlora, the qualification seminar for teachers was successfully held, organized by the AMIF Program and DIAKONIE – Baden-Württemberg in cooperation with ISI – Albania. The seminar brought together teachers from across Albania, as well as representatives from educational institutions and partners from Germany, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, Ukraine, and Armenia.
The main goals of the seminar were the exchange of experiences, improvement of teaching methodologies, and the encouragement of new collaborations in the field of language education.
The seminar took place in the facilities of a modern hotel near the coast of Vlora, creating a calm and inspiring atmosphere for intensive work as well as open and friendly dialogue. Around 60 German language teachers from secondary and elementary schools participated in this event, along with representatives from the Goethe-Institut, the German Embassy in Tirana, and other important organizations supporting German education and culture in Albania.
The three-day program included various training sessions, practical workshops, and thematic discussions. The main topic of the seminar was in the area of legal mobility and strategies to make this process more attractive and successful for citizens who wish to move legally to Germany. Other topics included:
- The use of technology in German language classrooms
- Guiding students to receive proper counseling on migration and career planning
- The importance of cultural interconnection in the language learning process
- Formative assessment and preparation for international German language exams
The lecturers were well-known experts in the field of language didactics, including trainers from Germany who brought international experience and successful practices that can be adapted to the Albanian context. Participants also had the opportunity to share projects they are developing in their schools and receive concrete advice for their improvement.
Special attention was given to building professional networks among teachers, encouraging cooperation beyond the seminar, so that the results and benefits would be long-term.
Evening activities were used to enhance acquaintance among colleagues, with cultural visits around the city of Vlora and relaxing activities by the sea. At the end of the seminar, all participants received certificates of participation and valuable didactic materials for use in teaching.
This seminar reinforced the importance of collaboration between teachers and institutions, as well as AMIF’s commitment to improving strategies and guidance toward professional counseling for German language students.
